“Giving God the Glory!”
“Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
~ Revelation 14:7 KJV
Why A Blog?
March 1, 2022
There is definitely something that is so significant about creation, birth, rebirth and renewal. Nine months have passed since my last day of work without any plans for another position or even retirement. Taking a customary “leap of faith”, I completed my last semester as an instructor at a higher education institution on May 28, 2021. At that time, my thoughts about doing anything focused on the fact that 2021 was a milestone year for my husband, my sister and me during a pandemic. Not working allowed me to freely focus on the upcoming celebrations for my 60th, along with my husband’s 60th as well as my sister’s 55th birthday. Ending with the last celebratory, feverishly awaited, prayerfully answered occasion was our 20th wedding anniversary.
“To God be the Glory”, we all had a wonderful time acknowledging that we each had been given God’s gift to see and commemorate another birthday. And for me and George, 20 years of marriage! Yes, we were blessed to also be able to celebrate in public places during times when basically all over the world, one could be quarantined, hospitalized and even loss of life if one ventured out. The three of us are so very highly favored and thus spared any of those fates. I also was able to bring in the fall and winter holidays with much joy and delight! Besides, what else did I have to do?
So 2022 rolls in and while my eyes have wandered or lingered on job postings (starting after last celebration in September) and my mind has questioned my decision to stop working, being a woman of faith I just looked at all the Lord has blessed me with as well as brought me through. I decided that I needed “to give birth” to doing something that would honor my Heavenly Father. My desire to please the Lord is stronger than ever. I am so glad that it is! With that being said, while I have thoughts of writing a book that will hopefully capture what it means to be a Christian Leader in education, I can start by blogging what is on my mind regarding living for Christ in this world today. Hence the header, Saved Without Regrets: “Giving God the Glory!”
As you can tell, my website is simple and not at all sophisticated. Hopefully as time goes on I will revisit and revamp it. Since I am launching my blog today to recognize the nine months that I have gotten closer to God, focused on my health and reflected a lot more on my journey, I can’t think of a more appropriate time to get started sharing my voice. I am looking forward to not only sharing my voice, but even more so using it to lift up the Kingdom. After working as an educator in public education since 1986, ultimately, I would like to place emphasis on the scripture below:
“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
Galatians 6:10 NKJV
Grace & Peace,
Brenda
