The Battle

In thinking about the courageous men and women who lost their lives so others can be safe and “free” from tyranny and exercise their God given right to have a free will, I recognize them today and salute them for being disciplined, physically fit and mentally apt to go into battle. I also continually pray for peace so that the number of soldiers lost to war decreases or better still is totally eliminated.

Of course, my thoughts have led me further to “Giving God the Glory”. What can we learn from our Heavenly Father? There are recorded battles in the Bible that tell us about this topic. In reflecting upon the concept of battle since it still exists today, the one great factor involved that we must never forget is God. We as individuals face all sorts of challenges which at times we use the word “battle” in discussing what we are going through or have overcome. No matter what type of battle it is, the Lord is the ONE who can see us through victoriously!

When facing “the battle” whether or not it is you personally or someone else you may be praying for (which I hope that you do), please keep in mind whose battle it truly is by mediating on this verse:

Scripture: 2 Chronicles 20:15

And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the LORD to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
