In thinking about all that is happening as well as has happened with the entry of the pandemic I have thought about what I can do to continue living as a faithful Christian trusting in God because I believe He is in control and in charge of everything on earth and in heaven. Yesterday, the sermon that was delivered by my pastor, Reverend Christopher L. Bryant at Pleasure Hill Baptist Church in Whitakers, NC provided me with “food for thought” regarding what has be on my mind in living for the Lord.
Using God’s word from 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”, Pastor Bryant spoke about God as being faithful and that “God is the author of our fate.” So, we should understand that everything that comes our way does not come from God, but rather be thankful to God in everything because “The earth is filled with the goodness of God.” Reverend Bryant mentioned that we are waiting for a “false” power that we may receive through song, sermon or even from the pastor. However, it is God and His word where the power comes from.
With that being said, I will continue my earthly journey walking and talking with as well as in the Spirit so that I am living God’s word no matter what may come my way. I understand that Satan is evil and from yesterday’s sermon I have a better understanding that while God has given the devil “orchestrating power”, God is the creator of all things good! Please mediate on the verse below if you need reminding of this:
Scripture: Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
