Whose “Process” are you Trusting?

“God’s Got You in the Palm of His Hand” ~ Joel Osteen

“Trust the Process” is a phrase that I have used very often as an educator when talking to faculty/staff as well as my students when I was serving as a professor. As a woman of faith, stating those words “trust the process” has a deeper connotation than used in the secular world. It is God’s process or indeed God Himself that I am trusting. While others may use this phrase lightly or without a connection or relationship to God, I do not, cannot and will not.

Trust and love go together like day and night, Adam and Eve or life and death. What does God’s word tell us about love? Love never fails. “But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.” (1 Corinthians 13:8, NKJV) Love never fails, but a lot of others things do including man. So, if one thinks about who they are going to trust, as a believer, it should always be God and His word. God is love; He never fails.

The Lord made heaven and earth as well as everything in them. Talk about a process! God’s love is very real in giving His only begotten son, who yes, completed a torturous, undeserving, painful (to say the very least) process. If this is not love, worthy of our faith and trust in the Almighty, I don’t know what is. I do know, unmistakably – it is my God; He is in charge and control of everything. God reigns!

So, I hope that the next time you hear or use these words, “Trust the process”, you will think about who is in control of the process that you are trusting. To help you on your path with the Lord regarding trust, mediate on the scripture below:

Scripture: Isaiah 50:10

“Who among you fears the LORD? Who obeys the voice of His Servant? Who walks in darkness And has no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD And rely upon his God.
